Too good to be true

Fast fashion is a huge problem. Hidden behind the glamorous facade of on-trend, widely available and affordable clothing are issues of pollution, overconsumption and exploitation. Through thought provoking imagery and words, this 20 page broadsheet publication aims to raise awareness and challenge patterns of clothing consumption.

A toxic industry

A series of brightly coloured ‘toxic’ images help to communicate the theme of each spread. Alongside a statement font created from fast fashion brand logos, hand drawn ‘green-washing’ symbols act as a quick pictorial representation of the issue being discussed.

Slogan tee

Q: What do newspapers and fast fashion garments have in common? A: They are often used once and then disposed of afterwards. Using the carefully positioned pattern pieces throughout, readers are encouraged to transform the publication into an anti-fast fashion slogan tee – communicating the key messages in one thought provoking display piece.
